3 Easy Ways to Launch Your Course or Membership
If you're ready to launch your online course or membership, one of the best things you can do is keep it simple. Launching doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming, especially if you’re just getting started. What it does need is a plan and one of the most important parts of that plan is a live event.
A launch event is your chance to let people know that your program is ready. It's your opportunity to create energy, build momentum, and invite people in. And no, this doesn’t mean you need to produce a huge event. I’m talking about something that feels special but is still simple and doable.
Here’s the good news: you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Today I’m sharing three easy ways you can launch your program with a live event that connects, serves, and invites.
Why a Launch Event Matters
Before we dive into the three options, let’s talk about why a launch event matters. When you host something live, whether it’s a workshop, a challenge, or a simple livestream, you’re rolling out the red carpet for your audience. You’re saying, “I see you. I’m here to serve you. And I’ve created something that can help you.”
Live events create connection. They build trust. And they give your audience a reason to show up, engage, and take action. Plus, they give you clarity. Instead of guessing your way through a launch, a live event gives you structure, purpose, and a natural way to invite people into your offer.
Now let’s walk through three easy options you can choose from.
1. Host a Workshop or Webinar
Workshops and webinars are tried and true. In fact, you’ve probably attended one yourself. This type of launch event gives you the chance to teach something valuable that’s directly related to the course or membership you’re offering.
You can:
- Teach the first part of your process.
- Break down a key mindset shift.
- Tackle a common obstacle your audience faces.
Keep it simple. Don’t overcomplicate the tech. You can create a landing page with a registration form, tag those who sign up, and set up an automated email sequence to keep them informed and excited.
If you’re using Kajabi, I like to skip the built-in webinar funnel feature and instead create a custom setup with a form, tags, and automations that fit my exact needs.
This setup lets you:
- Serve people well.
- Capture email addresses.
- Segment your list.
- Automate follow-ups.
- Focus on showing up and leading.
Workshops and webinars are straightforward and effective.
2. Run a Challenge
Challenges have become a popular way to launch because they’re highly engaging and results-driven. You invite your audience to join you for a few days, usually three to five, and walk them through a small transformation.
Think:
- Daily lessons or prompts.
- Bite-sized homework.
- A focused topic with clear progress.
Challenges help your people get a win and build momentum. And when people experience progress, they’re more likely to say yes to the next step...your program or digital product.
Just like a webinar, a challenge can be supported by an automated email sequence that reminds them what they’re learning and encourages them to keep going.
But before you decide on this option, ask yourself:
- Can your audience realistically commit to three to five days?
- Do you have the margin and energy to show up consistently?
A challenge can be powerful, but it’s important to choose it because it fits your season and your people, not just because it’s trendy and you see others doing it.
3. Go Live
If you’re short on time or energy, going live is your simplest option. Whether it’s Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube, showing up live gives you a chance to serve your people, share something valuable, and talk about your offer...all without setting up a registration page or email sequence.
No, you won’t collect email addresses, and it won’t grow your list directly, but it will still create connection and visibility.
Here’s why I still love this option: people show up. You create momentum. And the replay lives on for others to find later. You can even embed the replay on your website or refer back to it in future content.
One client of mine did a single Instagram Live during her launch. That live, along with her content plan, helped her 10x her results. She didn’t stress about the tech or production. She just showed up, served well, and let the value speak for itself.
Final Thoughts
No matter which launch event you choose, remember this: keep it simple. The goal isn’t to execute a perfect launch. The goal is to connect with your audience, serve them well, and invite them into your program.
Start with something manageable. Do it well. Then next time, you can build on it.
Choose one of these three events. Get it on the calendar. And start showing up. You’ve got something valuable to share and your people are ready.
