Do you ever get confused and overwhelmed by all the advice that exists about the online space and how to grow your online business? Everyone seems to have an opinion, a mindset, a mantra and it can be very overwhelming trying to decide and discern what would be helpful to your business, especially when some of those pieces of advice compete with one another or seem out of touch with who you are, who you're serving, what you're doing.

 

That little red flag my friend, is something that you should pay attention to and I am here to tell you that the one expert you need to listen to is yourself.

 

That's right. No one knows your people, at least no one should know your people like you.

 

You should be the one that understands what they're thinking, feeling and doing. You should be able to speak their language and know what's keeping them up at night. You should know the feelings and the mindsets that challenge them, those cycles that they always seem to get themselves into, and the obstacles and barriers that are keeping them from the transformation that they are seeking.

 

You are the expert of your people so you really need to listen to yourself.

 

That doesn't mean that you ignore knowledge from people that are in the online space. There are so many wonderful, knowledgeable people that I've learned from that have helped me grow as I have had one business and now pivoted into another. But at the same time, there were three different occasions where I listened to "expert" advice...when I heard the knowledge, but I wasn't wise about whether or not I should apply that to my own particular business and I believe it sabotaged my efforts.

 

In today's episode I share with you the 3 mistakes I made in my previous business based on expert advice and why it set me back.
