Why You Want to Start Working On Your Project Now

Have you ever had a great idea for your business—maybe a program, a service, or a project—but it never quite made it past the dreaming stage? If so, you’re not alone. Most of us are holding a handful of seeds. We’ve got ideas, plans, and visions, but they stay in our hands instead of being planted.

Sometimes we don’t plant them because we’re afraid. Sometimes we’re just tired or overwhelmed or not sure where to start. Whatever the reason, here’s the truth: if the seeds are never planted, they’ll never grow.

There’s a quote often attributed to Gandhi that says,

“The future depends on what you do today.”

That’s not just true for world-changing movements. It’s true for your life. It’s true for your business. Every choice you make today shapes your tomorrow.

The future you want—that dream of having more time, reaching more people, building something stable and meaningful—it doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by action. It doesn't have to be big, sweeping action all the time. More often than not, it’s the small, consistent steps that make the biggest difference.

It’s easy to underestimate the power of those small steps. We tell ourselves it’s not worth doing if we can’t do it all at once. But that’s not how growth works. You don’t plant a seed and get a tree the next day. You plant. You water. You wait. You adjust. And eventually, something beautiful starts to grow.

I know that there are some seasons where it is hard to get moving. Whether it's summertime or the holidays, there are times with slower rhythms, time with family, vacations, and rest. And those are good and necessary things. But even in the slowness, you can still plant seeds.

Planting seeds doesn’t have to mean working all day or pushing through burnout. It might mean jotting down a few ideas, setting aside 30 minutes once a week, or having one focused conversation. The point is to start.

One of the biggest traps we fall into is overestimating what we can do in a short amount of time and underestimating what small actions can do over time. How many times have you planned to knock out a big project in a single afternoon, only to find it still unfinished days later? That’s because we think in terms of projects, but projects are really just a bunch of tasks stacked together. We forget that it takes time and space to do things well. And when we rush, we lose both quality and momentum.

Instead of trying to build everything in a day, take one step today. Choose one task. Make one decision. Take one action that moves your idea forward. That’s how you build real progress.

So if you’ve got a dream for a course, a membership, a new online program, don’t wait to start. Plant the seeds now. Even in a slower season, you can still show up with purpose and make intentional moves that set you up for success.

Your future is shaped by the steps you take right now. Don’t wait. Start planting.
